The multiples of a number are numbers of equal or greater size that contain the same number an exact number of times. In fact, when the m.c.m. is calculated of two numbers we are calculating the smallest common multiple of both.
How to find the multiples of a number
How to find the multiples of a number:
- To find a multiple of a natural number, simply multiply it by another natural number.
For example, to calculate the first five of 3:
3·1=3
3·2=6
3·3=9
3·4=12
3·5=15
And we can say that they are 3, 6, 9, 12 and 15. - Every natural number is a multiple of itself and 1.
- Any number other than 0 has infinite multiples.
- The number 0 only has a multiple, the 0.
